Hi, I'm Arth! (pronounced like Earth without the E)

I’m currently building deep learning based vision systems at Tesla to improve their defect detection process.

Previously, I studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley with a focus on deep learning, information theory, and as much applied math as I could get my hands on. My primary research focused on human-robot interaction with the VeHICal group, which eventually lead to my first publication on scoring the credibility of perception modules in autonomous vehicles.

I tried my hand at a fair few things in college. Here are some of them:

• Wrote for The Daily Californian.
• Served as President of UC Berkeley’s third oldest consulting club with the best people on Earth.
  • Developed a carbon emission reduction plan for one of California’s largest wineries.
  • Helped a start-up create jobs in one of Jordan’s largest refugee camps.
• Helped develop deepfake detections algorithms that some people ended up really liking.
• Built HD Maps at DeepMap the same summer they were acquired by this other cool AI company.
• Worked with the Indian government on setting up autonomous drones to deliver medicines to rural areas.
• Created deep learning models to detect heart disease for the UCSF Division of Cardiology.
• Researched the use of technologies to help kirana store owners become sustainable entrepreneurs.

Diving into the questions listed above is a process of encountering one learning curve after another, some significantly steeper than others. I've always found writing to be a way of helping me achieve clarity of thought while learning something new, so I try and break down technical concepts as I come across them here.
